7. 2. – 7. 6. 2026
Opening Friday, Feb 6, 2026, from 6 PM
Within the distinctive architecture of the Gehry Galleries, works by visionary pioneer Lois Weinberger (born 1947 in Stams; died 2020 in Vienna) and contemporary sculptor Katinka Bock (born 1976 in Frankfurt; lives in Paris) enter into an evocative artistic dialogue.
Their exchange centers on processes intrinsic to nature and materials as well as to architecture and space. While Weinberger devoted his practice to ruderal plants—often dismissed as weeds—alongside cartographies and archaeological traces, Bock focuses on physical transformations within materials, which she translates into poetic, spatial installations.
What unites both artists is their engagement with natural processes harnessed for artistic ends. The works selected for this exhibition, including several newly created pieces, respond to the museum’s architecture and extend beyond it, growing literally into the outdoor space surrounding Marta.
Both artists share an interest in natural processes that are used artistically. The works selected for the exhibition, some of which were newly created, respond to the museum’s architecture and literally grow beyond it into the outdoor space around the Marta.
