Some galleries are not open to the public during exhibition preparation periods.

 

Since 03.04., the regulations for presenting a 3G certificate and wearing a mask in the museum will be lifted. For your own protection and that of our employees, we would still be grateful if you continue to wear a mask and keep sufficient distance.

The Marta Café will remain closed for the time being.

Admission free for under-18s, visitors on their birthday, Marta Friends and Supporters, Friends of Kunsthalle Bielefeld and Kunsthalle Dominikanerkirche, holders of the Herford Card, the DB-Art-Card, the ICOM card or an International Association of Art ID card, members of the International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art, members of the German Museums Association, employees of Daniel Pöppelmann House, members of the Kestner Society.

Access to Marta Herford from Herford railway station forecourt is barrier-free. All exhibition galleries and other rooms open to visitors are either equipped with ramps or can be reached by lift. It may happen, however, that accessibility to certain installations in the galleries is limited.

There are two disabled-access toilets in the museum and the café. For visitors who are unable to walk, a wheelchair can be provided free of charge. There is also a large number of folding chairs for use in the galleries.

Guide dogs accompanying visually impaired or disabled visitors can be taken into the galleries with the corresponding ID. If you have any more questions, the visitor team will be glad to help.

By road
A2 Hannover – Dortmund: exit Herford/ Bad Salzuflen (B 239) and follow the signs
A30 Osnabrück – Bad Oeynhausen: Exit Kirchlengern, head for Herford, and follow the signs
Parking: Opposite the museum (500 cars, 4 coaches), follow “Marta Areal”

By rail
Herford is on the Intercity route Cologne – Hannover – Berlin. Marta is 3 minutes’ walk away from Herford railway station. On leaving the station, turn left and follow the main road for 300 meters (Bahnhofstrasse, Fürstenaustrasse, Goebenstrasse).
